www.VisionsGlobalEmpowerment.org The proliferation of digital learning resources and platforms has transformed the field of education in many parts of the developed world, but has yet to be utilized in much of the developing world. To leverage existing technologies and virtual platforms can mean the difference between progressing in one's education in a modern society and getting left behind.

In 2016, Visions Global Empowerment and its sister organization Visions India (www.VisionsIndia.org) launched a new e-learning initiative in partnership with Mumbai-based tech company Zaya Learning Labs (www.zaya.in). At 9 schools across India (Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand), educators have utilized tablet devices and Zaya technology to promote learning in Mathematics, English, and technology literacy from disadvantaged students in Grades 1-5.

 
Students and educators from the Thiruvannamalai District share their experiences of empowerment in the face of socioeconomic adversity. Visions Global Empowerment ("Visions") works hand-in-hand with local nonprofit partners such as the ALC School Project in creating educational and personal development opportunities that serve communities and enable marginalized youth to improve their overall wellbeing.

 This short film is focused on Visions' efforts to foster youth leadership in Tamil Nadu, India. While previously implemented through another local nonprofit partner, these efforts are now being implemented directly by Visions Global Empowerment India.
